Solutions - Thermocrete
As
you can see from the two pictures to the left, this chimney stack is in
a very poor condition, the bricks can easily be lifted by hand. This is
due to acid corrosion and weather attack having eaten away the inner render
and mortar joints between the bricks, this flue is in danger of collapse.
We were called to this house because the flue was leaking into the bedrooms
upstairs, this procipitates a severe danger from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Now that the thermocrete process is complete you can see that the stack has been rebuilt from the inside leaving it stronger than new. Also now there are two perfectly cylindrical isolated flues which are much more efficient.
